Faith & Persistence

For Neville Goddard, faith means fidelity to what has been accepted inwardly. Persistence is the return to that assumption when appearances, delay, or habitual reactions argue for the former state.

Neville used the Sabbath for the rest that follows a completed imaginal act. In this account, rest is satisfaction with the chosen end rather than constant checking for evidence. The biblical phrase "brazen impudence" expresses the active side of persistence: continuing in the accepted premise until it feels settled.
